One thing I noticed is just like when the Mustang GTs first came out, there is no security code to confirm the Bluetooth connection so it may well be possible for my GF's a**hole son to stomp on whatever I'm streaming. Like its big brothers, input level from your Bluetooth device is handled on the device, not the map. This has Bluetooth like the Mustang GT/GTXs have so you can use your phone/whatever to stream music to it and jam along. What can I say, it turns and things get louder or quieter. Details on that is on page 6 of the manual.Īnd, of course, there is a master volume knob. One effects model is Sine Chorus/Mono Delay/ Large Hall and the modify button will change the delay level. If the effect model is + reverb the modify button will change that and not the reverb.
For instance, if the effect model you select is only a reverb you can set the reverb level. What you can change depends on which effects model you chose. Lastly there is 'modify,' again with +/- buttons and an LED that changes colors based on what you choose. And again, which one you choose is indicated by the color of the LED near the effects +/- buttons. They're mostly reverbs, and sometimes combined with flangers, delays, and chorus.

Unlike the full sized GT/GTX, there's no mixing and matching you can do, you choose what they have in there. There are 12 different effects models to choose from. Like the amp model, which EQ setting you choose will be indicated by the color of the LED next to the +/- EQ buttons. There are 5 settings - Darker, Dark, Flat, Bright and Brighter. The second thing you can change is EQ but, again, there's not a lot to change here. I found myself thinking, "Well, it is a headphone amp, how much ya expect?" 4 clean, 3 crunch, 4 high gain, and one "direct." There is no changing tone knobs or gain on the various amp models, you get whatever the eggheads in R&D wanted them set to. Two buttons, simple + and -, change the amp model and which model you select is indicated by the color of the LED. Having said that, there are not a lot of settings to change to begin with, unlike a full sized Mustang GT/GTX.įirst is which amp model you want. It's for practice and general noodlin around, after all, and I don't expect to tweak a lot of settings once I get to playing. With the G400 the amp plugs in so the adjustment buttons are on the "far side" so it's not perfect, but it's not a big deal, either. I did a brief noodlin with an Epiphone G400 (the SG) because it was the closest guitar in the room (I am lazy).

I have no way to tell if there's even an update for it, let alone what version it has so.I moved on. I tried to to update the firmware but that didn't work, cause unknown. It comes with its own short USB-C cable and to my surprise it came almost fully charged - I don't think it took more than 10 minutes to charge. I didn't have time to mess with it when it arrived but had time to plug it in to charge it.
Gotta say after my Spark experience, getting a new amp EARLY is an odd feeling 8^D
